Today Team Tui was invited to play friendly Volleyball games with Glen Brae senior students. Around 9:30 we set off to begin our walk down to the school for a great exercise. It was truly a great opportunity to have had a rematch since volleyball is my favorite sport and because this is my last year joining intermediate tournaments. Although some rounds were not victorious, at the end of the day we still had fun and that is all that really matters.
Today after assembly team tui were setting up for our expo, Our LCS was based on a culture festival. Here above is some photos of my station with my LCS I have been working on throughout the term. Although working on my station was last minute I am still truly great full that I was able to finish right on time before assembly started. Today was such a great day for our last presentation to end off the year.
For this weeks cybersmart challange Team Tui were instructed to use any of our blog post and identify the following things. Unique and intresting title, Category and tags, Digital Learning Object, and lastly our information about our learning. Attached above is my activitie I have been working on this week.
For maths today I had the opportunity to test my knowledge of my times tables. Here as you can see I have written down my times tables for 3-12 and I have been practising with one of my friends Kymani. Together we tried our best to achieve all times tables before the years end especially because Kymani will be leaving to college soon so it is best to learn our times tables for a brighter future.
Lost In The Woods
As the trees swayed around, there was a sudden snap. Startled by a strong gust of mist, it rummages through the field. An unexpected call reaches out to you. You are confused as you hear the sound of a slight crack nearby. As the sound of the mysterious call slowly came closer I was eager to find out what it was and who was calling me. Slowly walking towards the noise, I started to get the weird feeling someone was watching me.
Still walking anxiously, trying to solve this mystery as my eyes began to pick out through the mist a tall, boney and skinny black figure. It was hard to see clearly. Stuck frozen, my anxiety grew as I turned around. I started running for my life. I tripped on a log and fell and hit my head hard onto the solid ground. Staring down at me was the tall black figure. I was unable at first to see who it was but when I saw it ……
Today for Cybersmart the whole of team tui were learning more about the importance of Kawa of Care just as a reminder to those who eat and does not show the Kawa of care rules. We were also were reminded about missing keys, scratches, unclean, and unlabled Chromebooks. Before we worked on the kawa of care slides we were all told to make sure we clean our keyboards and screens for any food or dust.
On the 27th of October Glen Taylor School had a visit from Island Breeze. For those who do not know island Breeze, they are a group that is based in Hawaii. All though they may be based in Hawaii each of them come from different parts of the world. They had come to showcase a traditional performance representing their culture. My highlights from this morning was that I was able to learn more about the Hawaiian culture. My low lights was having to sit on the floor for over an hour but it was worth it. I am truly grateful that we all were able to have a great start to our day.
Last week team Tuis focus for writing was based on Parts of speech. Here is one of our activities linked to the parts of speech. Some of the Parts of speech areas we were learning about were, Adverb, Adjective, Interjection, Conjunction, Noun, Preposition, Pronoun, and lastly Verb. What i’ve learnt so far about them were that each individual part of speech meant different meanings. Some were describing words, some were a place or thing, Some were actions.
Today for maths Team tui had a meeting in room 12 for our weekly number talk. For today’s number talk we learn about Integers. Something I really enjoyed learning about Real numbers such as Natural, Whole, Integers, Rational, Irrational and Real. Something I really enjoyed learning about Integers is that it counts both ways negative and positive.
For this weeks Cybersmart challenge, it taught us about what Copyright is. I have learnt so many new things about copyright and will now share some thoughts ‘s with you all. Something I learnt about copyright is that it is a law that is stop you from taking information or texts from people’s hard work without asking for permission. What I mean by other people’s work includes, Music, Movies, Books, Ideas and many much more.
