Wanted Poster

This is a dangerous species that can be found in the indo-pacific ocean, red sea and east Africa to french Polynesia, north to the Ryukyu and Ogasawara islands, and south to Queensland Australia. This is the most dangerous species on earth and it is very poisonous. The Fish has 13 stout spines in the dorsal fin which can inject a highly toxic venom. For your own safety make sure you keep distance from this species.

Finding and Attributing Images.

Team Tuis Cybersmart challenge this week was based on finding and attributing images. For the task we first had to find a random image from google and insert it into the slide. The next couple of slides we had to insert other images from our own blog or someone else’s blog posts. We then had to find out who created the image, the images name, and the License type.

Tongan Language Week

Last week Glen Taylor school celebrated Tongan language week where we learnt a lot about the Tongan culture. On friday we got the opportunity to show case what a kava ceremony looks like and its features. As the bride and groom we had a small taste of the kava and it tasted like flavoured water. We also got to showcase a performance and a milolua to the audience. We then had a feed right after with lots of different foods.

Fun Run

Today team tūī had fun run where we ran all the way from Pakuranga yacht club to saint kens college. Today was really fun going for a run together with the Gi school. Today was also my last fun run as a year 8 leaving for college next year. At the end of the run we had sausage sizzles and played more fun sports.

Probability Graphs

Today we got the opportunity to learn about Probability together as a team. We had to find out the probability of picking out a green cube out of all colours of cubes in the image above. We then had to put all the information we gathered into a pie chart and bar graph. You can also use any chart you like but if you want the percentage then you should use a pie chart.

 

Volleyball

Last week Team tui was giving the opportunity to verse a couple of schools at Gi. I can gladly say that we have won all our games where we versed GI, Ruapotaka, Stan hope, and a couple of police officers. I am very grateful for the opportunity that was given to improve our skills and boost our confidence. At the end of the day we all had fun and enjoyed our friendly games.

Puberty Session

Yesterday team tui had a session about how puberty works and how our body develops body oder, and hair. It was an alright session where we were mostly mature and learnt many things of how both boys and girls go through puberty. Girls go through puberty from the age of 8-16, and for boys it is ages from 9-16. It was a very interesting lesson being taught many new things about our body.

Types of Graphs

This week our focus on math was about Different types of Graphs. We had the choice to either work in groups of 2 or independently. For this task we are supposed to find advantages and disadvantages about each graph. I had the amazing opportunity to work with one of my friends Pasimati and this in our information and data about different graphs.

Duffy Show

On the 13th of August the whole school had some special guests from the Duffy comunity. There were 2 main characters such as Duffy and his little sister Scruffy. I have enjoyed the Duffy show because it was very entertaining. I am truly grateful that Glen Taylor School had the opportunity to be entertained by these lovely guests.

Kara of Care

This task is all about showing Kawa of Care when on and offline. Ways you can show Kawa of care is by always treating your Chromebook well. Always holding your device with two hands and with the lid closed. When you finish using your devices you should always keep it on a table or in a Chromebook cupboard.
