Phone Allowance at School

Phone Allowance at School

By Brooke & Ahasi

FOR

Phones should be allowed at school because they are a great way of communication and can be used to do things like check your timetable during break time. They can be carried around without effort unlike Chromebook. If your phone were to get stolen, you can access its location and erase all data on it.

AGAINST

Why need a Phone when you have a School Chromebook. Yes you cant communicate on a chromebook but once you get caught using your phone during class, Teachers can take your phone off of you until the end of the day. So it is best to take your phone up to the office where they can keep it safe in a special place.

FOR

In different scenarios, office phones may not be the best option especially if its something urgent and everyone else has the same idea of using the phones of teachers. Its easier and much faster to have your own phone ready to be used.

AGAINST

Phones should be kept at home because of the risk of losing it or having get stolen. Phones are much more likely to be stolen especially if it is an iPhone. As we all may know, valuable belongings are easily stolen Especially at school for example, Air Pods, Headphones, Money, and Phones. It is best to be safe than sorry, so it is best to take it to the office before school starts.

CONCLUSION

To sum everything up, having phones at school has many advantages and also disadvantages.Being able to use your phones at school requires a deep level of trust to make sure students aren’t going off-task and doing things not related to school.

Year 7&8 Netball Team

On the 7th of May our year 7&8 netball team had their first grading netball game against the Remuera year 7&8 team. At first we were all nervous to play for the first time but as we played the match we then slowly gained confidence in playing a proper team. At the end of the game we won 33 – 1 and it was an amazing opportunity to play a proper match against Remuera school. I’d like to thank our amazing coaches for all the hard work they put into training our team and for giving us the confidence we need to compete in the netball competition.

HAL’s Activity

Today Room 11 have learnt a couple of new fun activities with the lovely Mrs Diamond. Our first game Mrs Diamond taught was called “Tails”. For this game you need spilt into two teams. One team with bibs and the opposite with non. We all also needed a Tag each to stick onto our backs and try to get each others tags. The most team with the most tags would win the game.

Our second game is called bench ball. For this game you are also split into two teams. This game is similar to netball but there are two people at each end of the court which was called bench. Each team have to pass the ball to their teammates at the end of the court. If your benched teammates drop the ball it would then be handed to the opposite team. But if your benched teammates catch the ball then we also get benched. The team with the most benched people would then win the round.

Glen Brae Volleyball

Today Team Tui was invited to play friendly Volleyball games with Glen Brae senior students. Around 9:30 we set off to begin our walk down to the school for a great exercise. It was truly a great opportunity to have had a rematch since volleyball is my favorite sport and because this is my last year joining intermediate tournaments. Although some rounds were not victorious, at the end of the day we still had fun and that is all that really matters.
